GLEN LAKE — Benzie Central and Traverse City St. Francis will meet in the Div. 3 district final following wins in their semifinal games at Glen Lake on Wednesday. The Huskies defeated Elk Rapids, 70-53, and the Gladiators defeated Mancelona, 74-33.
Benzie held just a 19-17 lead after just one quarter and built that to a 32-26 edge at halftime. They continued to build on that lead throughout the second half. Nate Childers had 17 points, while Quinn Zickert finished with 16 points.
Traverse City St. Francis came out on fire, taking a 20-4 lead with 1:36 still to go in the first quarter. They led, 39-15, at halftime.
The two will meet for a district title on Friday at 7 p.m. at Glen Lake.
