Lauren Scafidi

Lauren Scafidi joined 9&10 News in 2017 as a reporter, and began co-anchoring Michigan This Morning in October 2018. Lauren loves kick-starting your morning Monday through Friday 4:30 – 9 a.m. with Northern Michigan’s News Leader, and traveling to different restaurants each week for Inside The Kitchen With Lauren Scafidi. Her stories have brought her everywhere between Sault Ste. Marie and Mount Pleasant, and Washington, D.C. several times, too. She has covered both the heartbreaking and heartwarming stories in our communities. Lauren has earned a Michigan Association of Broadcasters Broadcast Excellence Award for Best Feature Story, and a Michigan Association of Broadcasters Merit Award for Best Reporter and Best Anchor. Before coming to 9 and 10 News, Lauren grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she served as president of the Society of Professional Journalists. When she’s not at the anchor desk or in the field, Lauren is out on a run, practicing yoga, or trying to become a better golfer. Key word, trying.
