Katie McClung

Katie McClung joined the Doppler 9&10 Weather Team in May 2022 as an intern after graduating college, and now serves as a digital content producer for the news department’s web team. She was born and raised in Northern Michigan, where she experienced all the weather the Mitten State has to offer. She was inspired to pursue meteorology while growing up on her family’s farm in Marion, where growing crops relied heavily on the climate and the environment. For college, she attended Central Michigan University where she graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology with a double minor in Environmental Science and Mathematics. During her time at CMU she participated in the student and faculty-run station, News Central. She also participated in the local student chapter of the American Meteorological Society where she enjoyed community outreach and career building. When she isn’t focused on the weather, she enjoys the outdoors, reading, and crafting. She looks forward to continuing to experience the wonders of Northern Michigan!
