Emma Hug

Emma joined 9&10 News as a reporter in September 2022. Emma comes from Central Michigan University where she studied Broadcasting. During her time at CMU, she served as Moore Hall Television's Station Manager and was a part of their award winning news program, News Central, where she did everything from directing to reporting. Prior to 9&10, Emma worked as a Broadcast Director for the High A Affiliate to the Los Angeles Dodgers, The Great Lakes Loons for their 2022 Season. She also was a photographer with Central Michigan University's Athletic Department, produced the 2021 Michigan Inter-Club Swimming Association's State Finals broadcast, and served as a judge at DAFT's Michigan Student Film Festival. Outside of working, Emma loves to go overlanding and spending her free time at the ice rink. Being born in Grand Rapids but raised on the east side of the state in West Bloomfield, Emma loves to explore all parts of Michigan. She is thrilled to call Traverse City her home!
