Good Day Northern Michigan, Wednesday Oct. 25

When it comes to understanding the current Israel-Hamas conflict, there’s no one we’d rather talk to than Dr. Steven Bucci.

Dr. Bucci is a former pentagon official who worked with the Secretary of Defense and now calls Northern Michigan his home.

Munising-based seafood company VanLandschoot & Sons Fish Market recently signed a “100% Great Lakes Fish Pledge.”

The first-of-its-kind effort aims to use every part of commercially caught Great Lakes fish by 2025. Companies will explore and implement innovative applications for fish byproducts including protein, marine collagen, fertilizer, leather, and other new, high-value products.

Program Manager John Schmidt tells us more about the pledge and how Northern Michigan businesses can get involved.

The Wexford-Missaukee Intermediate School District has a new special friend, Boone the therapy doodle!

Boone’s instructional consultant, David Johnson, tells us about the good work this canine is doing in the ISD.

“American Wolf: From Nazi Refugee to American Spy” is a heart-stopping true story full of last-minute rescues, near-death encounters, and survival against untold odds.

It’s also a story about coming of age, family dysfunction and national identity, and is a resounding testament to the triumph of the human spirit.

Using notes compiled by her father, Dr. Audrey Birnbaum vividly tells the story of Wolf’s childhood in Berlin, his escape from Nazi Germany, and the challenges he faced even as he reached freedom.
