A recent temperature boost has been fantastic for fly fishing lately.
Bright, sunny weather brings a lot of people to the Au Sable River to cast a line and step inside the Old Au Sable Fly Shop in Grayling.
Owner, Andy Paltro says when the weather is nice, many anglers come in and buy flies to fish for trout.
“We fish almost every day," Paltro explains. "I mean for a lot of folks it’s more than just a past time or a hobby, you know? It’s a little bit of an addiction. So in Michigan we try to take advantage of all the best weather we have the opportunity to.”
There are different regulations for brook, brown and rainbow trout fishing, depending on your location along the Au Sable.
Be sure to check with the DNR or a local bait shop.
